What to Expect
The experience of working with a therapist is first and foremost, confidential. To achieve lasting results, it is important to bring a willingness to speak freely about ideas, thoughts, fears, experiences, and especially, what you would like to see work differently in your life. In exchange, our conversations will remain completely private.
So, one of the first questions I might ask you is, “What brings you here?”
If you can put the answer to that question into words, you have taken a huge step! Even if you feel like you aren’t sure, odds are that at some level, you know more than you think. An old saying in therapy circles is, “If you can name it, you can tame it.” My role as a therapist is to help you do just that and then work together toward solutions.
Rates and Insurance
Currently, I accept Anthem PPO, Anthem Medi-Cal, and California Health & Wellness/MHN Medi-cal.
As a licensed psychotherapist, I am usually considered an out-of-network provider on other PPO insurance plans; most clients are able to receive partial reimbursement from their insurance company for the cost of our sessions. It is your responsibility to call your insurance provider to ask about coverage.
Whether your insurance covers all, part, or none of each session fee, the full amount is due each time we meet.
Fees
- Initial conversation/consultation about therapy: No charge
- Initial intake session: $150
- Regular session: $120
While I cannot answer specific questions about your insurance plan or coverage, I am happy to answer general questions about the reimbursement process as it relates to my practice.
